Anglo-Turkish Society

Betul died at the end of August this year after a short illness borne with great positivity and hopefulness. These were attributes she manifested throughout her long (but not long enough) and fruitful life.

Betul was a very early member of the Anglo-Turkish Society, with her signature on the Society's Articles of Incorporation dated 6th of September 1979. She was later elected to serve on the Executive Council, where she proved to be a tireless and imaginative member almost right to the end. She was a brilliant organiser of lunches and dinners which were attended by Society members and their guests for many years.

We greatly regret Betul's passing, but remain grateful for all the work she did for the Society with such aplomb.
